Larian Studios warns Baldur’s Gate 3 players that they will need sufficient space for the release of Patch 5 today.
The upcoming Patch 5 weighs in at 30GB, but the installation requires a whopping 130GB of free space, according to a tweet from Larian.
Clearing out 130GB of disk space to accommodate a 30GB patch may seem excessive. Larian suggests players without the necessary space uninstall and then re-download the patched version of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Patch 5 is launching soon! This update will clock in at roughly 30GB and will require approximately 130GB of free space to install. If you find yourself without the space to install the update, we recommend uninstalling BG3 and then re-downloading the patched version.

Although the need for space presents a challenge, Larian teases significant improvements in Patch 5, including an epilogue featuring fan-favorite Withers. The update also promises a fix for Act 3 slowdown issues.
