A Bahraini officer and a soldier were killed in a drone attack by Yemeni rebels while patrolling the Yemeni-Saudi border, according to Bahrain’s military command.
Several soldiers were wounded in the attack that occurred early Monday, as stated by the official Bahrain News Agency.
Bahrain, a close ally of Saudi Arabia, has been involved in the conflict with the Iran-aligned Houthi rebels in Yemen for years. However, a cease-fire had reduced the violence, and there has been progress towards a peace agreement in recent months.
