has confirmed his well-being in an Instagram video on Tuesday, just a day after false reports of his death at the age of 36 surfaced.

Seiter shared a short video on his account, acknowledging that

and offering an apology for any distress caused by the false death announcement.

In the video posted on Tuesday afternoon, Seiter reassured his followers, “As you can see, I am alive and well. My account was hacked… Somebody played a cruel joke, mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve faced with depression and suicide attempts, and I deeply apologize for the pain they caused with that post.”

Seiter mentioned that he was locked out of his account for 24 hours but was finally able to regain access on Tuesday. He promised to provide further updates on the situation.

HuffPost has reached out to Seiter for additional confirmation. At this time, he has not responded to the request for comment.

The original post, which has since been deleted, appeared to be a heartfelt tribute from Seiter’s family.

“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the unexpected passing of Joshua,” stated the now-deleted message attributed to his family. “Those who knew him can attest to his incredible brightness in an increasingly dark world. His fearless voice and unwavering spirit brought solace to thousands of individuals during their darkest moments, making them feel a little less alone.”

“Though our grief over Joshua’s passing is immeasurable, we take comfort in knowing that he has finally found peace,” the statement continued. “We hope and pray that his spirit can continue to live on through the images and words on this page, which we will keep for now. During this time, we kindly request privacy as we mourn.”

Despite being eliminated during the first week of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season on “The Bachelorette,” Seiter utilized his exposure on reality TV to build a substantial following on social media and pursue a modeling career.

Seiter has been open about his mental health struggles, openly discussing his battle with depression and anxiety on various online platforms.

In a recent Instagram post, he identified himself as a “suicide attempt survivor” and expressed his determination not to give up. In the caption, Seiter revealed his diagnoses of bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Last week, Seiter shared a selfie on Instagram with the caption, “Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
