Arrest Made in Murder Case One Year Ago Today (July 9, 2022) Due to Suspect’s Unique Facial Tattoos

Exactly one year ago today (July 9, 2022)… A man was apprehended by the police on suspicion of fatally shooting another man inside a camping trailer in North Hollywood. What led to his arrest were his unique facial tattoos, which were identified by witnesses during the investigation. The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a white Toyota Camry, which was later found and impounded on Worster Avenue.

In a separate incident, the police received a report of a battery suspect at a convenience store in the area. The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of battery and taken to the LAPD’s North Hollywood station. It was at the station that the suspect’s distinctive facial tattoos were recognized by homicide detectives from the LAPD Valley Bureau. The suspect was identified as Ricardo Martinez, a 25-year-old resident of North Hollywood.

Martinez was taken into custody and booked at the Van Nuys Jail. He is being held on a $2,185,000 bail and is facing charges of murder.
