April GDP Report to be Released by Statistics Canada – National

A pair of significant economic reports are set to be released on Friday morning, signaling potential changes in Canada’s economic landscape.

Statistics Canada will unveil its report on the performance of the economy in April through the release of the gross domestic product (GDP) figures for the month.

The early estimate provided by the agency last month suggested a 0.2% increase in GDP for April.

In addition, the Bank of Canada will release its business outlook survey and Canadian survey of consumer expectations, providing insights into the overall economic sentiment and outlook.

The release of these economic reports precedes the upcoming interest rate decision by the Bank of Canada on July 12.

In its ongoing efforts to combat inflation and achieve its target of two per cent, the central bank recently raised its key policy rate to 4.75 per cent.
