Angus Cloud’s ‘warm and kind’ presence on the set of ‘Your Lucky Day’ remembered by director

The late Angus Cloud’s final onscreen performance in the new indie-thriller “Your Lucky Day” is sure to captivate audiences. Daniel Brown, the film’s director and writer, explains that the unexpectedly timely release of the movie has made it even more special. Brown shares, “The movie became much more important in the wake of Cloud’s death. I just hope that his family feels like he’s properly represented and that he would’ve been proud of it.”

In “Your Lucky Day,” Angus Cloud plays the role of a criminal involved in a high-stakes dispute over a winning lottery ticket, which leads to a deadly confrontation at a convenience store. Brown had never seen “Euphoria,” where Cloud gained fame, but his wife suggested him for the central character. Brown remembers his excitement when Cloud showed interest in the role, describing it as “crazy, like an impossible thing to even imagine.”

On set, Cloud’s positive energy and kindness shone through. Brown recalls, “Leadership on set I think is a big, crucial thing, especially with a small movie and really tight budget, and [Angus] was just so chill about everything, really just so kind to everybody. We [all felt] so blessed to have him around.”

Angus Cloud had a profound impact on the film’s cast and crew. Brown acknowledges Cloud’s calming presence and shares how his warmth helped everyone involved in the production.

When Cloud unexpectedly passed away, Brown felt a deep sense of sadness and disbelief. Now, in honor of Cloud, Brown is organizing a screening of “Your Lucky Day” for Cloud’s loved ones in Oakland, California. Cloud’s family and friends will have the opportunity to watch and celebrate his final work, in which he left a lasting impact.

“Your Lucky Day” is set to hit theaters and be available for digital release, carrying on Cloud’s legacy.
