An American Airlines passenger faced backlash online after a TikTok video went viral, in which she appeared to insult another passenger. Now, she has released an apology video on YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok to address the situation.
“I am Tiffany Gomas, often referred to as the ‘Crazy Plane Lady,’ and I believe that title is well-deserved,” said Gomas, who works as a marketing executive, at the beginning of her video.
In the video, Gomas apologized for her use of profanity and admitted that she was unable to control her emotions during the incident. She also acknowledged finding some of the memes about her outburst amusing.
“While many people have found the memes to be hilarious, it is important to recognize that they can also be invasive and unkind,” Gomas stated. “I am incredibly grateful for the love and support of my friends and family. They have stood by me unwaveringly, and I am truly blessed to have them.”
Gomas expressed her desire to move forward with her life, despite her worst moment being captured on camera.
The incident that led to Gomas going viral occurred in July, when she was captured on video appearing distressed and yelling at fellow passengers on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Orlando.
“I am getting off this plane, and there is a valid reason for it,” Gomas shouted. “But I want to make it clear that the person back there is not real.” It is unclear who or what Gomas was referring to, but she was seen pointing towards the back of the plane while shouting.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, published on August 10, Gomas revealed that her life has been dramatically affected by the attention she has received.
“It is frightening. Things go viral, and everything changes,” she told the Daily Mail.
