Mondelez Global has issued a recall for certain varieties of belVita Breakfast Sandwich biscuits due to the potential presence of undeclared peanuts. The company stated that there have been three unconfirmed reports of allergic reactions to the products. The risk stems from possible cross-contact on a single manufacturing line. This poses a danger to individuals with peanut allergies or severe sensitivity, as consuming these products could lead to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. Mondelez discovered the issue during an internal manufacturing inspection, where they found traces of peanut protein residue on the production line for these specific products.
The recalled products include the BelVita Breakfast Sandwich biscuits in the Dark Chocolate Creme and Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Vanilla Creme varieties.
