Air Canada Passengers Removed from Aircraft Due to Unacceptable State of Soiled Seats

  • An incident occurred on an Air Canada flight where two passengers were removed from the plane for expressing dissatisfaction with their seats.
  • Susan Benson, a fellow traveler, revealed that upon boarding, the passengers discovered their seats were soiled with vomit.
  • When the passengers voiced their concerns, security personnel intervened and escorted them off the aircraft.

Air Canada faced an incident where security had to escort two passengers off a plane as they refused to occupy seats contaminated with vomit, according to an eyewitness seated behind them.

In a Facebook post dated August 29, Susan Benson, a passenger on the flight from Las Vegas to Montreal, Canada, described how she witnessed the struggles of two women and a man attempting to find their seats, unaware of the source of a foul smell.

It was later revealed that someone had vomited on the previous flight, despite Air Canada’s hasty cleanup attempt comprising of placing coffee grinds in the seat pouches and spraying perfume to mask the odor.

Neither Benson nor Air Canada provided a comment regarding the incident when contacted by Insider outside of regular working hours.

Upon discovering residue on their seats, the passengers in front of Benson informed a flight attendant, who expressed sympathy but cited the flight’s full capacity as the reason for their inability to provide an alternative seating arrangement.

“The passengers said they couldn’t possibly be expected to sit in vomit for five hours,” Benson’s post continued.

Eventually, the flight attendant sought assistance from a supervisor, who reiterated that there were no other seats available due to the flight’s occupancy. The employees, however, provided the passengers with blankets and additional wipes to clean the affected seats.

After settling into their seats, the passengers were addressed by the pilot, who offered them two choices: voluntarily leave the plane and arrange their own flights at personal expense or be escorted off by security and placed on a no-fly list due to their perceived rudeness towards the flight attendant.

Benson stated that the neighboring passenger vouched for the innocence of the two women, but the pilot returned to the cockpit, and security guards escorted the women off the aircraft.

Benson registered a complaint with Air Canada and shared the incident on the airline’s social media platforms, expressing concern for the two expelled passengers.

“I have no idea if they were actually placed on the no-fly list or not. I cannot stop thinking about these two ladies,” Benson wrote.
