Agent Reveals Tori Bowie’s Anticipation to Embrace Motherhood

The tragic death of Tori Bowie during childbirth in May was a devastating loss for the US Olympic champion and prospective mother, as revealed by her long-time agent, Kimberly Holland. In an interview with NBC News, Holland describes their close relationship, stating that Bowie was like a daughter to her. Bowie had confided in Holland about her pregnancy and the anticipation of welcoming a baby girl. “I think that that would have been one of the luckiest babies ever, because she had so much love to give,” says Holland, highlighting Bowie’s gentle nature towards her own teenage daughter.

Holland expresses concerns about Bowie’s well-being, considering her medical history, which includes a bipolar disorder diagnosis. Holland mentions that Bowie had “never been a really big eater” and, according to the autopsy report, she weighed merely 96 pounds despite being eight months pregnant and standing at 5’9″. Holland recalls reminding Bowie about eating for two and attending prenatal appointments. She admits to becoming a bit insistent, but Bowie assured her that the baby was fine. Bowie also expressed her desire to avoid a hospital birth, although Holland clarifies with CBS News that Bowie was not intentionally attempting to give birth at home. Two weeks after their last conversation, in which Bowie exuded happiness about welcoming a child, she was tragically discovered deceased. Tragically, her unborn child did not survive either.
