After Achilles surgery, Kevin Ferrer expected to be out of action for 6-8 months in PBA.

Terrafirma’s Kevin Ferrer successfully underwent surgery on his Achilles tendon on Thursday after suffering an injury during a preseason game against TNT. Ferrer had to be stretchered out of Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig with 16 seconds left in the second quarter of the Dyip’s victory over the Tropang Giga. Although Ferrer was initially expected to be out for 10-12 months, Terrafirma’s physical therapist, Raymund Jose, stated that the former University of Santo Tomas standout could return to action in just six to eight months. Ferrer, who was averaging 9.5 points and 4 rebounds for the Dyip in the preseason, tallied seven points and three rebounds in 19 minutes prior to the injury.
