AFL Star Identified by Promising Australian UFC Fighter as a Natural Talent for Boxing

Rising star of MMA and now UFC, Jack ‘Leg-Breaker’ Jenkins, has teamed up with AFL player Jordan De Goey, confident that De Goey could easily transition into boxing with his exceptional skills. Jenkins, known for his ability to break the legs of his opponents, regularly trains with Collingwood midfielder De Goey and has personally witnessed his talent.

Speaking on Fox Sports, the rising Aussie featherweight UFC fighter praised De Goey, saying, “In training, we go all out, and Jordie is incredibly talented. If he ever decides to pursue a different career after footy, he has amazing boxing skills and explosive power.” Despite De Goey’s prowess, Jenkins humorously adds, “Every now and then, I have to take him down and remind him who’s in charge.”

Their unlikely partnership as training partners began when De Goey faced backlash after a scandalous incident in Bali last year. Collingwood management decided he needed time away from his teammates, leading him to train at the Absolute MMA gym where he first met Jenkins.

Jenkins, who wasn’t in the UFC at the time but was swiftly making waves in the world of MMA, took De Goey under his wing, and they developed not only a training partnership but also a strong friendship.

Regarding their initial meeting, Jenkins explains, “Someone reached out to his manager, suggesting it would be beneficial for Jordie to work with me. I agreed to meet with his manager, and after our first session, we immediately clicked. He’s been nothing short of a great guy. We’ve become mates, training together, attending each other’s matches, and genuinely helping each other out.”

De Goey, known for his destructive midfield presence and goal-scoring abilities, has matured, demonstrating a new attitude towards his football career. This year, he has made significant strides as a premier midfielder for Collingwood after signing a contract extension with the club.

As for Jenkins, he is truly a remarkable talent in the MMA realm. With an impressive record of breaking five opponents’ legs in eight fights, he is set to face American fighter Jamall Emmers at UFC Florida on June 25. Jenkins confidently states, “If I see that leg there this Sunday, I will break it. Jamall is fully aware of the risk, and if he gives me the opportunity, I won’t hesitate to exploit it. Anyone who allows me access to their leg will regret it.”

Overall, the partnership between Jack Jenkins and Jordan De Goey showcases the harmonious fusion of two sports worlds, and both individuals are benefitting from their collaboration.
