A mother bear along with her playful cubs received an unexpected treat when they stumbled upon a Krispy Kreme truck in Alaska. News reports confirm the incident.
During a delivery at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, a Krispy Kreme driver momentarily left his van unattended and unlocked. Coincidentally, this was a favored hangout spot for the bear family.
As the driver was inside making the delivery, the store manager, Shelly Deano, recounted to CNN that she heard strange noises coming from the van. Realizing the situation, she exclaimed, “He’s in the van!” The curious bear cubs followed their mother inside, and they began devouring the delicious doughnuts.
Despite attempts to deter them by banging on the van, the bears remained undeterred and continued their feast. Eventually, base security was called in to drive the bears away by sounding sirens nearby.
According to Deano, the bears consumed a whopping 20 packs of doughnut holes and six packs of three-pack chocolate doughnuts.
Candice Sargeant, the manager of the Krispy Kreme store where the doughnuts were made, admitted that her team would be more cautious about leaving van doors open in the future. This unprecedented bear heist left her astounded.
After seven years in the business, Sargeant stated that this bear incident was truly a first for her and her team, as reported by Alaska’s News Source.
