Sharon Farrell, best known for her role in the TV series “The Young and the Restless” from 1991-1997, died of natural causes, confirmed by her son Charles Boyer to The Hollywood Reporter.
Throughout her career, Farrell made guest appearances on various ’60s TV shows such as “Wagon Train,” “Gunsmoke,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Rawhide,” “The Fugitive,” and “The Beverly Hillbillies.” In the ’70s, she appeared in shows like “Marcus Welby, M.D.,” “Love, American Style,” “Kolchak: The Night Stalker,” “Police Woman,” and had a regular role in “Hawaii Five-O” as well as in the horror film “It’s Alive.”
During the ’80s, Farrell played the mother of Cindy Mancini (Amanda Peterson) in the teen comedy “Can’t Buy Me Love” and portrayed Chuck Norris’s ex-wife in “Lone Wolf McQuade.” She also appeared in “T.J. Hooker” and the cult classic “Night of the Comet.”
In the ’90s, Farrell continued to appear in movies, with her last roles being in the TV series “JAG” and “Broken at Love.”
