Actor’s Bold Message to Bigots: Refrain from Watching

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to allow a graphic designer to refuse service to same-sex couples on religious grounds, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and actor Michael Imperioli have both expressed harsh criticism. Imperioli, known for his roles on “The Sopranos” and “The White Lotus,” responded by announcing his own plan to exercise this right by restricting his potential audience. According to People, Imperioli stated, “I’ve decided to forbid bigots and homophobes from watching ‘The Sopranos,’ ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘Goodfellas,’ or any movie or TV show I’ve been in.” He expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for allowing him to discriminate and exclude those he disagrees with and opposes.

Imperioli shared his intention on Instagram, along with a patriotic message: “Thank you Supreme Court for allowing me to discriminate and exclude those who I don’t agree with and am opposed to. USA! USA!” It should be noted that Imperioli has previously shown support for LGBTQ+ rights online, including advocating for voting to remove “bigots out of office.” In response to the Supreme Court ruling, as reported by USA Today, he remarked that “hate and ignorance is not a legitimate point of view” and expressed concern about the decline of intelligence in America.
