Actors and Writers of Breaking Bad Join Forces ‘in Unity’

A group of familiar faces made an appearance on the picket line outside of Sony Pictures Studios on Tuesday. The cast members of AMC’s renowned shows, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, showed their support for the actors and writers affected by the Hollywood walkouts. Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Jesse Plemons, and Rhea Seehorn were among those who expressed solidarity. Cranston addressed the crowd, emphasizing their importance in the industry, stating, “We are all the backbone of our business.”

One of the concerns raised by the group is the impact of artificial intelligence and the issues arising in the era of streaming services like Netflix, which acquired both shows. Paul highlighted the lack of fair compensation from streamers and called for a change. Cranston also touched upon the subject of AI, explaining their demand to have a clause in their new contract that states “Actors must be human beings.” He condemned the dehumanization of the workforce, calling it “mind-boggling.” Cranston clarified that the strikes are not meant to demonize the studios but to promote fairness and engage in meaningful dialogue. He stated, “We just want them to see reality and fairness and come back to the table and talk to us.”
