In the 36th minute, Son expertly curls a right-footed shot into the top corner of the net, and later in the 54th minute, he assists playmaker Maddison in scoring a cool finish.

Remaining undefeated in the league under new manager Ange Postecoglou, Spurs now boast 23 points, two more than Premier League champions Manchester City and local rivals Arsenal. Their next challenge is Crystal Palace on Friday, where they aim to extend their lead to five points.

Despite Tottenham’s dominance, Fulham fails to impress and occupies 13th place with only 11 points. The victory is especially gratifying for Tottenham after Fulham knocked them out of the League Cup on penalties, the club’s only setback under Postecoglou’s leadership in north London.

Postecoglou, who was recruited from Celtic to revive Tottenham’s fortunes, has now achieved the best start by a new manager in the Premier League.

Although pleased with the result, the Australian manager is not entirely satisfied with his team’s performance.

“It was a good result because Fulham is a tough team to break down,” said Postecoglou in an interview with Sky Sports. “The second half wasn’t great and we didn’t play anywhere near the levels we can, we were wasteful.

“You have to respect the game, and if you’re slightly off, it can bring you down. We took some liberties that I wasn’t very happy with. It was our weakest 45 minutes with the ball.”

Tottenham’s attacking style is evident once again as they create chances in the early stages, with Son thwarted by Fulham’s former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Defender Micky van de Van misses a volleyed opportunity, and Richarlison side-foots wide after an impressive build-up.

Fulham’s best chance in the first half falls to Joao Palhinha, but his header is excellently saved by Guglielmo Vicario.

Fulham’s defensive error presents Tottenham with the breakthrough as a poor pass from Calvin Bassey leaves them vulnerable, allowing Richarlison to find Son, who evades defenders before delivering a curling shot beyond Leno.

Maddison continues to shine for Tottenham, contributing significantly to their impressive performances since joining from Leicester City in the summer. He is soon rewarded for his efforts.

Son sets up Maddison after Fulham’s sloppy defending, and the England international skillfully guides a low finish into the net.

With another game scheduled for Friday, Maddison, Son, and Richarlison are all substituted in the second half. Tottenham loses focus and could have paid the price, but Fulham fails to capitalize on several late chances.

“In the second half, we increased the pressure, but ultimately, we leave empty-handed,” said Fulham manager Marco Silva, who has never registered a Premier League win over Tottenham. “Perhaps we were unlucky not to score one or two goals, then we’d be discussing a different outcome.”
