Aaron Rodgers criticizes ‘Hard Knocks’ choice to feature the Jets

The New York Jets have been chosen to feature on the upcoming season of “Hard Knocks” on HBO. However, not all the players are thrilled about the increased coverage, including new franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers. During an interview at the American Century Championship golf tournament, Rodgers openly shared his thoughts on the show. He expressed his appreciation for the narrator, Liev Schreiber, but also acknowledged the pressure and expectations that come with the increased attention. Rodgers stated, “They forced it upon us, and now we have to deal with it.”

The Jets last appeared on “Hard Knocks” in 2010 under the guidance of coach Rex Ryan. That season, the team reached the AFC title game but has since struggled to make it to the playoffs. This year, with the addition of Rodgers from the Packers, the Jets hold a similar level of intrigue. It’s worth noting that no teams volunteered for the show, and the NFL had the authority to select four franchises to participate. The Jets did not meet the criteria for exemption, so the cameras will start rolling when training camp opens on July 19.

Head coach Robert Saleh expressed his reluctance to have his team featured on “Hard Knocks” earlier in June. He made it clear that while other teams may welcome the opportunity, the Jets were not interested. Despite the players’ reservations, including Rodgers, they will still be on screen this summer as filming commences.
