Joe Biden mistakenly confused two blonde pop stars during his Thanksgiving turkey pardoning speech on Monday, Nov. 20.
During the speech, Biden, who was coincidentally celebrating his 81st birthday, discussed the journey of the pardoned turkeys, named Liberty and Bell, noting that they traveled over a thousand miles. “You could say it’s harder than getting a ticket to the Renaissance tour or,” Biden said before appearing to struggle to remember Taylor Swift‘s name in order to mention the popular Eras tour.
“Or Britney’s tour,” he said instead, seemingly referring to Britney Spears. “She’s down in — it’s kind of warm in Brazil right now.”
This comes after Taylor Swift recently performed at the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro. The second night of her Eras Tour concert in Brazil was postponed on Saturday, Nov. 18, due to “extreme temperatures” in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian concert promoter T4T announced that Saturday’s concert will be rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 20. More details about the rescheduled event will be shared through taylorswifttheerastour.com.br.
According to the Associated Press, many concert-goers complained that they were not allowed to bring in water bottles to the stadium despite a record-breaking heat wave in Rio, the reports. Temperatures reached 102.4 degrees Fahrenheit in the city on Friday.
