- Jada Pinkett Smith expresses satisfaction over the recent arrest in connection with Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder.
- However, the actor still seeks answers regarding the death of her childhood friend.
- Pinkett Smith poses the question: “Who ordered the hit?”
Jada Pinkett Smith remains curious about the circumstances surrounding Tupac Shakur’s murder in 1996, despite feeling relieved by a recent arrest related to the crime.
In an interview with InStyle, Pinkett Smith, a childhood friend of the late rapper, discussed his death and her new memoir, “Worthy.”
She expressed her main question: “Who ordered the hit? Although someone has been arrested, I need that answer to believe justice has truly been served. Who ordered the hit?”
When the interviewer suggested that the arrest was a step in the right direction, Pinkett Smith responded, “That’s what I find solace in. Hopefully, we’ll uncover the truth and find closure. We’ll see.”
This sentiment matches her reaction to the arrest of Duane “Keffe D” Davis in late September, who was indicted on one count of murder with a deadly weapon, according to AP.
Pinkett Smith previously posted on her Instagram Story, “Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. R.I.P. Pac.”
Although Pinkett Smith has stated that her relationship with Shakur was strictly platonic, she believes they were soulmates.
She said, “There are various definitions of ‘soulmates.’ If past lives exist, I truly believe Pac and I have shared some together.”
The actor also shared a memory of Shakur proposing to her while he was in prison, but Pinkett Smith felt he would have divorced her after his release. She believed that being married would have provided him something to hold onto during his incarceration.
