This plan aligns with efforts to both reduce emissions and take fair and effective actions. If the Road Safety Authority recommends high-visibility vests for non-car users, it indicates the dangers they face. If roads were treated as workplace environments, speed limits would likely be lower due to health and safety considerations. It remains a mystery as to why the government and local authorities subject pedestrians, cyclists, and children to unsafe conditions when they are aware that speed is a leading cause of accidents.
I disagree with Gearóid Ó Riain’s opinion on school uniforms. I believe that all students should wear school uniforms. If students were allowed to wear their own clothes, especially in secondary schools, it would turn into a fashion show and increase bullying. Uniforms are easier to put on and I imagine that the majority of parents prefer them.
