Russell Brand, facing new allegations of sexual assault and rape, strongly denies the claims.
In a video posted on Friday, anticipating the public release of these accusations, Brand refuted the allegations, suggesting they were a coordinated attack by the mainstream media against him.
Entrepreneur Elon Musk, known for sharing his opinions on controversies, appears to support Russell Brand’s viewpoint.
Tesla and SpaceX founder, also the owner of X (what Musk now insists we call Twitter), expressed solidarity with Brand on Friday, even before any details of the investigation were made public.
“Of course,” Musk responded to Brand’s tweet, er, X. “They don’t like competition.”
Recently, Brand has faced various setbacks that have impacted his public image. For instance, YouTube removed one of his videos that contained COVID-19 misinformation. Additionally, he has promoted conspiracy theories surrounding the Ukraine War, which the Kremlin supports.
Musk, like Brand, has also experienced recent setbacks to his reputation, too numerous to mention here. In fact, Musk’s biographer, who had extensive access to him for two years, described him as a “jerk” who “doesn’t care.”
In contrast, the women accusing Brand of sexual misconduct used stronger language to describe their experiences. According to a joint investigation by The Times of London, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches, four women have come forward, accusing Brand of sexual misconduct, predatory behavior, rape, and sexual assault.
One woman stated that Brand approached her when she was only 16 years old, while he was 30. She described an incident in which Brand forced himself upon her, choking her and refusing to stop. She had to physically defend herself by punching him in the stomach. “At that point, I knew he didn’t care about hurting me physically or emotionally,” she told reporters.
