MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported an increase in the number of individuals affected by typhoons Hanna (international name: Haiku) and Goring (international name: Saola), as well as the enhanced southwest monsoon.
According to the NDRRMC, a total of 514,153 individuals or 140,101 families in 1,756 barangays nationwide are now being affected by these weather events. This is higher than the previous report of 418,192 individuals or 114,724 families in 1,469 barangays.
