Money and Space Wasted Due to a Packing Mistake on a Long-Haul Flight

  • Before my 12-hour flight to Tokyo, Japan, I made the mistake of purchasing a cheap neck pillow on Amazon.
  • Without testing it out beforehand, I quickly discovered that it was ill-suited for my body shape.
  • This resulted in wasted money and luggage space, and I realized that going to a physical store would have saved me the hassle.

I immediately regretted my recent Target shopping spree.

As I perused the aisles filled with dish detergent, paper supplies, and kitchen essentials, I passed by the travel accessories section.

Among the suitcases, packing cubes, and power adapters, I noticed a display of seven different neck pillows.

This reminded me of the neck pillow I had abandoned at home, sitting in a donation pile.

Earlier this year, I wasted money on a neck pillow that didn’t fit my body shape.

After seeing the variety of options at Target, I realized that I should have shopped in person instead.

I regret not testing different neck pillows in person.

About a week before my 12-hour flight from Colorado to Tokyo, Japan, I realized I needed a travel pillow.

While I had flown long distances before, I had never felt the need for a travel pillow as I had previously enjoyed lie-flat seats in business class.

However, for my economy flights, I knew I needed all the comfort I could get, so I searched for travel pillow reviews online and decided to purchase the affordable Napfun pillow for traveling on Amazon.

Despite its 10,000+ positive reviews and 4.4-star rating, the pillow turned out to be a disappointment.

When it finally arrived and I tried using it on my flight, I discovered that either the pillow was too small or my neck was too long, leaving a large gap between my head and the pillow.

This rendered the pillow useless and left me frustrated with the wasted money and space in my luggage.

Unfortunately, by the time I returned from my trip, it was too late to return the pillow and I ended up donating it to Goodwill.

This experience served as a reminder that buying things online isn’t always the wisest choice, and for my next long-haul flight, I will be heading to Target to test out different neck pillows in person.
