Orange County Register reports third individual apprehended in Irvine fatal car-to-car shooting

In a significant development, the Irvine Police Department announced on Monday that they have apprehended a third suspect in connection with the tragic car-to-car shooting that claimed the life of a 19-year-old individual. The latest arrest involves Hailey Angelique Rangel, a 20-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, who was taken into custody on Sunday near Green River Road and the 91 Freeway in Corona. The authorities have charged Rangel with homicide, making her the alleged driver of the white Honda Civic that the other two suspects were in prior to the shooting.

Over the weekend, the police arrested Jayden Browndorf, a 21-year-old resident of Irvine, and Noah Farmer, a 22-year-old resident of Tustin. All three suspects are scheduled to appear in the Santa Ana jail courtroom on Tuesday. The charges against them stem from the shooting incident that unfolded on Thursday at the intersection of Athel Avenue and Sego Street, where 19-year-old Nicholas Alistair Neaimi-Pour was shot.

According to the Irvine Police Department, Neaimi-Pour had entered the passenger seat of a black Mercedes-Benz that had pulled up alongside the east curb of Athel Avenue. As the Mercedes-Benz was approached by a Honda Civic, Noah Farmer, allegedly alighted from the Honda and opened fire on the victim. Following the shooting, Neaimi-Pour exited the Mercedes-Benz but tragically collapsed before the arrival of emergency responders.

Jayden Browndorf and Noah Farmer, who resided in close proximity to the incident, were arrested during the execution of a search warrant at their residence. Both were booked on suspicion of homicide. The police have recovered both vehicles involved in the shooting.

It’s worth noting that Farmer has a previous case pending, involving misdemeanors for assault and battery on June 14, 2021, and a felony count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury on February 9, 2021. Rangel also has a pending case for misdemeanors related to corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, as well as malicious damage of personal property on April 14, according to court records.

At present, all three suspects are being held without bail, as confirmed by jail records.
