Aug. 4 (UPI) — Celebrity couple Rita Ora and Taika Waititi are offering a peek into their intimate wedding that took place in 2022.
The British singer, 32, and the New Zealand filmmaker, 47, shared photos and details from their wedding on their first anniversary on Friday.
Ora and Waititi revealed to Vogue that they tied the knot on August 4, 2022, at their Los Angeles home.
“Contrary to the reports, it wasn’t in London or France,” Waititi said. “It was in L.A. with a small group of friends.”
The wedding guests included Waititi’s two daughters from his previous marriage, Ora’s sister Elena Ora, and Waititi’s best friend, actor Jermaine Clement.
“My sister walked me down the aisle, and it was a simple, blissful, calm, private, and fun affair,” Ora said.
“Yeah, it was beautiful,” Waititi added. “We didn’t have elaborate table settings or any other stressful elements that accompany weddings, and it was nice to keep it super simple.”
Ora and Waititi first crossed paths at a barbecue held at Waititi’s house in 2018, and they started dating in 2021. They made their debut as a couple on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Suicide Squad in August of that same year.
The “Don’t Think Twice” singer and the Thor: Love and Thunder director got engaged during a summer vacation in Palm Springs, Calif., in 2022.
“She proposed to me, and I immediately said ‘yes’,” Waititi revealed to Vogue.
Ora had previously announced her marriage to Waititi on the Heart Breakfast radio show in January.
The singer later showcased her emerald and diamond wedding ring on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
