A significant portion of Baguio City experienced a power outage on July 27 due to the aftermath of Typhoon Egay (international name Doksuri), resulting in fallen power lines caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall. The crew of Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco), responsible for distributing electricity to the city, immediately initiated repairs on electrical posts and cables to restore power supply.

Typhoon Egay inflicted widespread damage as it swept through Baguio City and other parts of northern Luzon, leading to uprooted trees, extensive flooding, and landslides.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s 5 a.m. bulletin, the center of the typhoon was estimated to be 195 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes, moving northwestward at a speed of 15 km per hour. Typhoon Egay had maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 185 kph.
