PH clinches gold in Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships

Marc Dylan Custodio, Stephen Luke Diwa, Art Barrientos, and Zach Sales Ramin made history in the 21st Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. The Team Philippines boys team of four clinched the gold medal in a thrilling come-from-behind victory. Their victory marked the first time the country ruled the category in the continental youth meet since 1981.

After trailing by 209 pins after two games, Custodio, Diwa, Barrientos, and Ramin narrowed the lead of the South Korean team over the next three games. In the final match, they outperformed their opponents, securing the gold medal with a stunning reversal.

Custodio expressed his pride in the team’s unwavering spirit and belief in themselves. He credited their resilience and countless hours of training for their victory. Barrientos, Ramin, and Diwa also contributed significantly to the team’s success.

Ramin, who recently won the 53rd Singapore International Open title, expressed his confidence in the team and acknowledged the tough competition they faced from powerhouse bowling countries like Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia.
