Pregnancy Aneurysm Causes Influencer to Wake Up from Coma

Social media maven Jackie Miller James has emerged from her medically-induced coma after being in it for approximately a month.

“We are overjoyed to announce that the outpouring of love and prayers for Jackie have yielded positive results,” a post on Instagram from Sunday reads. “Jackie is now awake and has recently been transferred to one of the top neurological rehabilitation facilities in the country. The doctors are pleased with her latest tests, numbers, and evaluations, noting that Jackie is surpassing expectations in her recovery and demonstrating remarkable progress with each passing day.”

In May, James, who was nine months pregnant and just a week away from her due date, suffered from a ruptured aneurysm, resulting in brain bleeding. She was put into a medically-induced coma, and doctors performed an emergency C-section and brain surgery simultaneously, according to a GoFundMe.

Within twelve days of the aneurysm rupture, James underwent five separate brain procedures. Her newborn baby girl had to be placed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) due to the complications of her birth.

According to a post from James’ family on her Instagram account, the influencer in the beauty and lifestyle niche is making “remarkable progress.” The funds raised through the GoFundMe campaign will be used to provide her with the best possible care and maximize her chances of recovery. As of Monday, the campaign has raised more than $330,000.

“As a family, we want to respect Jackie’s privacy during this personal, intimate, and challenging time,” the Instagram post states. “Moving forward, Jackie will be the one to share any future updates on her platforms, in her own unique style, when she feels ready.”
