In Calaca City, Batangas province, a tragic collision between two motorcycles resulted in the death of one rider and injuries to another.
The incident occurred on Saturday night when Kim Ritchel Maullon, 38, collided with Jayson De Villa, 31, while traveling along the national highway in Barangay Camastilisan. Maullon suffered severe injuries to his head and body and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ospital Ng Calaca.
Both riders were found to be not wearing crash helmets, which is a violation of the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
The authorities have stated that both parties are willing to arrange a settlement.
