When Brokaw was first diagnosed, his doctors didn’t expect him to live much longer. He previously shared that his condition had gone into remission, but unfortunately, it returned, forcing him to retire from the career he was passionate about.

Brokaw describes his father, who started working dangerous jobs at a young age, as the toughest kid in town, recalling stories of his father’s experiences, like being lowered headfirst into a deep well with a rope tied around his legs.
