6 Teenagers Apprehended for Causing Harm to Fellow Passenger Prior to Departure

  • Six Israeli teenagers were detained after causing chaos on a plane departing Cyprus, as reported by Ynet.
  • One of the teenagers threw a full soda can at a fellow passenger, causing injury.
  • When the crew called the police, the group referred to them as “snitches.”

A group of six teenagers were detained after their disruptive behavior onboard a flight from Cyprus to Israel last Thursday, as reported by Israeli media outlet Ynet.

The incident occurred when the TUS Airways flight was taxiing at Larnaca International Airport, and one of the teenagers threw a full soda can at a fellow passenger, causing injury, according to the Israeli news website.

When the head flight attendant asked who threw the can, the teenagers responded with laughter. The captain then decided to turn the plane around and notify the police.

The unruly passengers proceeded to insult and label the crew as “snitches” before attempting to apologize to law enforcement, as reported by Ynet.

Data from Flightradar24 shows that the departure was delayed by 47 minutes, presumably due to the disruptive behavior of these passengers.

Although it is unclear whether the teenagers had visited the popular nightlife resort of Ayia Napa, Larnaca is the closest airport to the resort.

After being detained, the teenagers were held in custody before being released and rebooked on a later flight, as reported by Simple Flying.

“We have zero tolerance for such violence,” stated a spokesperson from TUS Airways. “The safety of our passengers is our top priority, and in the rare event of such incidents, we take necessary actions, including asking disruptive passengers to leave the airport or disembark from the plane.”

Insider has reached out to the airline and airport for comment, but there has been no immediate response.
