50 Cent Forced to Cancel Concert Over Sweltering Temperatures

The scorching heat in Phoenix has shattered records this summer, resulting in the cancellation of yet another concert. Rapper 50 Cent expressed concern for the safety of concertgoers as he announced the postponement of his scheduled show at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre due to the dangerous triple-digit temperatures. Reflecting on the extreme weather conditions, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, shared on social media, “I’ll be back in Arizona soon! 116 degrees is dangerous for everyone.” The National Weather Service confirmed that Phoenix reached a high of 117 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday.

50 Cent is not the only artist whose performances have been affected by Phoenix’s scorching heat. Heavy metal band Disturbed postponed their concert in July, citing equipment malfunctions caused by the excessive heat in metro Phoenix. The concert has been rescheduled for March 2, 2024. Country singer Morgan Wallen also faced challenges during his July 19 concert, as some fans complained about concession stands running out of water at Chase Field. Despite the retractable roof being closed, some attendees left the venue early due to the unbearable heat.

Phoenix is dangerously close to breaking the record for the most 110-degree days in a year, which currently stands at 53 days set in 2020. As of Tuesday, the city has experienced 51 such scorching days. In July, millions of people in the Southwest, including Phoenix, endured a historic heatwave, with the city enduring a streak of 31 consecutive days with temperatures over 110 degrees.
