40-Year-Old ‘Extreme Weight Loss’ Star Reveals Dramatic Transformation

The passing of Brandi Mallory, known for her appearance on Season 4 of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss series in 2014, occurred on Nov. 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Mallory was just 40 years old at the time of her death.

Her death has been confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, and her obituary, posted on Legacy, states that a funeral will be held in Georgia on Nov. 20. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.

Mallory, who worked as a makeup artist, initially tried out for the show The Biggest Loser, but was ultimately recommended for Extreme Weight Loss by producers. At the time, she weighed 329 pounds and underwent training from Chris Powell. Mallory even took part in a Half Ironman swimming-biking-running fitness challenge.

Alongside her makeup career, Mallory frequently shared updates on Instagram. In a 2018 YouTube interview with Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll, she revealed that she continued to “dance [her] pounds away” as part of her commitment to a healthier lifestyle, sparked by the loss of a friend and sorority sister at age 29.

In an Instagram tribute, Extreme Weight Loss Season 5 contestant Kim Williams Maxile described Mallory as a true inspiration. Mallory’s impact on the world, particularly her passion for body positivity, remains evident through the words of those who knew her.
