In fact, an estimated 8.1 million people enjoyed movies for just $3 on September 3. The average movie ticket price in 2022 was $10.53, according to the group. This discount promotion turned what is usually a quiet period for theaters into the busiest day of the year, with cinemas packed with moviegoers and lots of popcorn being sold. This year, the event has been moved from Saturday to Sunday, and ticket prices have increased by $1.
