Rapper Young Capone, also known as Dopeboy Ra and RaRa, and a protege of Jermaine Dupri, has tragically passed away at the age of 35. His publicist, Aleesha Carter, took to Instagram to announce his death, although the cause was not disclosed. In her heartfelt post, Carter expressed her grief and reminisced about the successful projects they worked on together. She also referred to Capone as her first hip-hop/rap client and expressed disbelief at the unexpected news of his passing. Carter concluded her statement by acknowledging Capone’s significance as a friend, client, and influential figure in East Atlanta. Jermaine Dupri showed his support by sharing a photo of Young Capone on his Instagram.
Capone, whose legal name was Rodriguez Smith, was reported missing in Chicago in July, although it remains uncertain whether he was found before his sad demise. Dupri also paid tribute to Capone on Instagram, simply captioning a photo of the rapper with four white dove emojis.
Young Capone was a member of T.I.’s Hustle Gang hip-hop collective and gained recognition with his albums “Tha Life of a Youngsta” in 2010 and “Paper and Politics” the following year. He featured on the Hustle Gang’s 2017 album “We Want Smoke.” In December, Capone released his final album, “SlumMade 2.0.”
