Remembering Ruschell Boone
We recently lost NY1’s Ruschell Boone. She was loved by many, including myself, NY1, and her own family. Ruschell had a remarkable life that took her from a cashier at a grocery store to a reporter, being born in Jamaica. She was married and had two boys, and her home was in Astoria. Unfortunately, her life took a turn for the worse when she faced a serious health emergency that required hospitalization.
During her time in the hospital, she lost 50 pounds. Once she was released, she visited my home, bringing me Jamaican rum and flowers. We shared tears together. Her co-workers sent her gifts, some even overnighting them. Her fellow reporters, such as Pat Kiernan, Frank DiLella, Annika Pergament, Errol Louis, Jamie Stelter, and Lewis Dodley, stayed in touch, showing their support through phone calls, cards, and flowers.
May the next life embrace her with the same love that we had for her.

Let’s put an end to the stories about how hard Biden works. I was seated at the next table, with our napkins nearly touching, during then-Sen.
