WASHINGTON – The third Republican presidential debate on foreign policy and 2024 GOP candidates’ unwavering support for Israel amid its war with Hamas.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, when asked how he would advise Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he was in the Oval Office, declared his urgency for Netanyahu to “finish the job once and for all with these butchers, Hamas.”
DeSantis vowed steadfast support for Israel and criticized Biden’s handling of the situation. He also mentioned arranging flights for stranded Americans to return from Israel to Florida.
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, emphasized her foreign policy experience and stressed the need to support Israel unequivocally. She rejected the idea of instructing Israel and instead advocated for unwavering support and Hamas elimination.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, known for his bold remarks, voiced Israel’s right to self-defense and advised Netanyahu to “smoke those terrorists.” He also likened the migrant crisis at the southern border to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., criticized Biden’s foreign policy strategy and affirmed Netanyahu’s right to eliminate Hamas entirely.
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie echoed support for Israel and vowed to meet any needs for Israel’s preservation.
