The Michelin Guide has recently expanded its Bib Gourmand list in Singapore, adding 17 food stalls and two restaurants to the prestigious roster of dining establishments.

This year, a total of 79 dining establishments have been recognized on the Bib Gourmand list, an increase from the previous year’s 67.

The Bib Gourmand category acknowledges affordable dining establishments, which are selected by anonymous inspectors, as stated in a press release by the company.

Joining the 2023 list are two notable restaurants – Kok Sen, a local favorite that has been serving traditional dishes like prawn paste chicken for over 50 years, and The Coconut Club, which features a coconut-themed menu and is known for its bestselling nasi lemak set.

The list also includes 17 food stalls, specializing in a variety of single-dish offerings. These stalls consist of:

  • Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon – known for its sliced fish bee hoon (rice vermicelli)
  • Du Du Shou Shi – offers tu tu kueh (steamed rice cake)
  • Heng Kee – serves curry broth and custom-made tofu puffs and fish cakes
  • Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice – specializes in chicken rice sets
  • Kwee Heng – renowned for its boneless braised duck
  • Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee – famous for its hokkien fried mee (egg noodles) with prawns
  • No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow – offers kway teow noodles
  • Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee – known for its hokkien mee
  • Soon Huat – serves “dry” or “soup” noodles
  • Tai Seng Fish Soup – specializes in fish soup
  • Young Chun Wan Ton Noodle – famous for its springy egg noodles

Geylang Bahru Market and Food Center has also received recognition, with Hui Wei Chilli Ban Mee, Spinach Soup, and Cheok Kee being awarded. Michelin highlights Cheok Kee for its soy-marinated duck dish.

Adam Food Center houses three additional Bib Gourmand stalls – Adam Rd Noo Cheng Big Prawn Noodle, Bahrakath Mutton Soup, and Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari, which is well-known for its Malay noodle dishes.

The complete list of Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore will be unveiled on June 27 during an awards ceremony.
