Yankees Pitcher Injured After Brave Battle: Bloodied and Carted Off Field by 100 mph Line Drive

A terrifying incident occurred at PNC Park on Friday night when a pitcher was hit in the face by a line drive.

Anthony Misiewicz, a pitcher for the New York Yankees, was left bloodied after being struck directly on the face by a line drive off the bat of Ji Hwan Bae. The incident took place in the bottom of the sixth inning on a 1-2 count with two outs.

The ball hit Misiewicz’s face with such force that it ricocheted and ended up being a two-hopper to right fielder Aaron Judge.

Misiewicz attempted to deflect or catch the ball with his glove, but his efforts were in vain.

The ball struck him near the left ear, causing him to collapse and crawl in pain before trainers rushed to his aid. Judge quickly ran in from the outfield to offer support.

After a few moments, Misiewicz was carted off the field as he received a standing ovation.
