Why Terrace Marshall Jr. will be sidelined for the Cowboys game

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers are shaking things up on offense this week in hopes of igniting some sparks when they have possession.

This week’s inactives list is headlined by wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., a slightly surprising absence due to injuries and depth at other positions.

Even with Laviska Shenault Jr. returning from an ankle injury and Mike Strachan being elevated for the week after an impressive 45-yard catch in the previous game, the Panthers have chosen to go with other options on the roster, opting not to include Marshall as a seventh receiver.

The remainder of the inactives were fairly predictable, as rookie backup offensive linemen Ricky Lee and Nash Jensen joined the list alongside three other players already ruled out due to injury.

This group includes tight end Hayden Hurst, cornerback CJ Henderson, and outside linebacker Marquis Haynes Sr..

With Henderson sidelined and Jaycee Horn still inactive, the Panthers will have Dicaprio Bootle starting at cornerback opposite Donte Jackson.

Additionally, linebacker Tae Davis has been activated this week to provide depth for special teams.

Here are this week’s inactives: CB CJ Henderson, OT Ricky Lee, OG Nash Jensen, TE Hayden Hurst, WR Terrace Marshall Jr., OLB Marquis Haynes
