Jelly Roll and Wynonna Judd electrified the 2023 CMA Awards with a captivating rendition of the former’s chart-topping hit “Need a Favor” at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 8.
The performance began with Jelly Roll and his choir in a church-like setup on stage. To everyone’s surprise, The Judds singer, Wynonna Judd, graced the stage, unannounced, and joined him in a stunning duet for the chorus.
As Wynonna belted out the powerful lyrics, “I only talk to God when I need a favor / And I only pray when I ain’t got a prayer,” her vocal prowess filled the arena. The audience, including celebrities like Post Malone, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman, Kelsea Ballerini, and Chase Stokes, was captivated by the performance.
Jelly Roll, a first-time nominee at the CMAs with five nods, performed flawlessly. Additionally, he is also a finalist for the 2023 Billboard Music Awards’ top new artist and is set to perform The Judds’ “Love Can Build a Bridge” at the ceremony alongside K. Michelle.
The 57th annual CMAs, hosted by Luke Combs and Peyton Manning, aired live on ABC and set the stage for outstanding performances and unforgettable moments.
