Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will be the final candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination to speak at the California Republican Party Fall Convention in Anaheim. His speech at the luncheon banquet will focus on “national unity” and “taking America First to the next level.”
Ramaswamy has outlined a set of 25 policy commitments that aim to expand on the principles of former President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. These commitments include securing the southern border using the military, ending affirmative action, banning addictive social media for minors, protecting political expression as a civil right, and withholding federal funding from cities that fail to address violent crime.
In addition to these policies, Ramaswamy also plans to reduce taxes and regulation, promote competition and investment, declare independence from communist China, and overhaul government agencies such as the Department of Education, FBI, and IRS.
Ramaswamy, a biotechnology entrepreneur, is the author of several books exploring topics such as corporate social justice, identity politics, and Wall Street’s influence on the country. If elected, he would become the youngest president in U.S. history and the first Indian American and Hindu to hold the office.
During the convention, former President Donald Trump, Senator Tim Scott, and Governor Ron DeSantis also delivered speeches highlighting their respective visions for the future of the Republican Party and the nation. Trump, in particular, criticized California’s Democratic leaders and emphasized the need to reverse the state’s decline.
The convention will conclude on Sunday with the adoption of the party platform.
