August 1 (UPI) — In a remarkable display of talent, a Japanese man has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for placing the most drink cans on his head using air suction.

Shunichi Kanno, a 31-year-old individual, initially set the record in 2009 when he successfully suctioned nine drink cans to his head. However, his achievement was subsequently surpassed by Jamie “Canhead” Keeton, who managed to replicate the feat with ten cans.

Kanno has recently recaptured the record by surpassing Keeton’s accomplishment with eleven cans. He explained that through the acquisition of a new skill to create air suction on his temples, he was able to increase the number of cans he could attach to his head.

In an interview with Guinness World Records, Kanno shared the technique, stating, “To achieve this, you need to create a wrinkle on your skin and place the can there. Firmly push the can towards your head and release the wrinkle. This reduces the air pressure between the can and the skin, making it attach like a suction cup.”

Kanno attributed his unique forehead shape as a contributing factor to his success. “I have always had a prominently large forehead ever since I was young,” he mentioned. “This feature made me realize that I had something distinctive that I could utilize in a meaningful way.”

When Kanno frequents bars in Tokyo, he often finds himself showcasing his unusual talent. “Whenever I carry my official certificate with me, people become incredibly excited and eagerly request to witness my trick,” he shared. “It brings me great joy to entertain them in this manner.”
