A rare long-tailed butterfly has been spotted flying in the United Kingdom, marking a unique sighting.
According to SWNS, the British news service, these butterflies are typically only seen in the Mediterranean region.
In Britain, there have been two instances of large numbers of these butterflies being sighted.

The first sighting was in 1990 in Northwest London, where the butterflies laid their eggs in Gillespie Park, as reported by SWNS.
The second sighting occurred in 1945.
Due to recent changes in climate, it is believed that these long-tailed butterflies have now established themselves in southern England.
“They are one of the last butterflies of the year to be on the wing from late September into October.”
