Unveiling the Harvard-Israel Connection: Credibility at Stake; Why Blacklisting is Suggested

Numerous student groups at Harvard University have signed a letter attributing blame for the unexpected Hamas attack solely to Israel. This has prompted a response from at least twelve CEOs who are now urging the university to reveal the identities of the students involved in these groups, in order to avoid hiring them in the future. According to a report by CNN and the New York Post, the letter asserts that these groups “hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence… The apartheid regime is the only one to blame. Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years.” The letter also highlights the plight of Palestinians in Gaza, who are described as being “forced to live in an open-air prison,” and calls on Harvard to take action against the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians.

For safety reasons, the names of the groups that signed the letter have been removed. According to the Harvard Crimson, students affiliated with these groups have been doxxed, with their names appearing on at least four websites as well as on a billboard truck that circulated near the campus on Wednesday, displaying not only their names but also their faces. In response to the backlash, eight groups have formally withdrawn their signatures, and some individual members of other groups have distanced themselves from the letter. The group that initially wrote the letter has issued a subsequent statement, staunchly opposing any violence against civilians. On a related note, a law student at New York University had a job offer rescinded after blaming Israel in a message on the Student Bar Association bulletin, as reported by the New York Times.
