New York Jets center Connor McGovern found himself on the sidelines, preparing to play in the team’s season opener against the Buffalo Bills, when he overheard devastating news about Aaron Rodgers’ injury. McGovern, 30, revealed to the media on Wednesday that he was standing near head coach Robert Saleh when the staff informed them that Rodgers had likely torn his Achilles during the Jets’ opening series on Monday night.
“I happened to be standing next to Saleh, about to run onto the field when he asked one of the athletic trainers, and I eavesdropped a little bit. It was shocking,” McGovern recalled.

“At first, I wasn’t sure if I heard correctly, but then I saw the expression on Saleh’s face, which confirmed that my eavesdropping was accurate,” McGovern added.
