Unraveling the Mystery Behind Sam’s Surprising Departure from Clayton’s ‘Bachelor’ Season

  • Former “Bachelor” contestant Sam Jeffries joins Season 9 of ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise.”
  • Sam briefly appeared on Clayton’s season of “The Bachelor” but was eliminated on night one.
  • Here’s a recap of Sam’s time at the mansion during her short stint on “The Bachelor.”

Samantha “Sam” Jeffries brings unexpected excitement to Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Unlike other contestants, Sam didn’t leave a lasting impression during her brief appearance on Clayton Echard’s season of “The Bachelor.” Host Jesse Palmer even pretends to be confused about Sam’s identity and reasons for joining the spinoff show’s first episode.

Let’s take a look at Sam and Clayton’s interactions during his season of “The Bachelor.”

Sam’s memorable entrance and early exit

For her entrance, Sam arrived in a giant portable bubble bath, holding a flute of champagne, and wearing a black bikini.

According to Elite Daily, she greeted Clayton with the pickup line, “Want some of this bubbly personality?”

However, viewers didn’t see much of Sam after her entrance. It was later revealed that she chose to leave the show on the first night, along with two other women.

Sam shared her decision in an Instagram post, which seems to have been edited since. Elite Daily reported her original words: “Clayton and I privately talked on night one. He was attentive, charming, and kind. However, a romantic connection is crucial in a relationship. I’ve always believed in not forcing anything I don’t feel. As much as I wanted to stay, it wouldn’t be fair to pursue his heart and take away an opportunity from someone who was completely invested.”

The current Instagram post shows Sam in the bubble bath, captioned: “Look what the handlers rolled in.”

Clayton later told ET that he was unsure why Sam chose to leave.

“I don’t fully know what happened. I can only guess, just like you,” he said in an interview.

Despite her “Bachelor” setback, Sam appears to have moved on and is now part of the upcoming season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Unfortunately for her, the show’s producers seem intent on portraying her in a comical light. In a teaser for Season 9 of “Paradise,” Sam is shown needing medical treatment after going without a bowel movement for nine days.
