A groundbreaking study has determined that model Gigi Hadid possesses the ideal jawline. The 28-year-old supermodel, known for her high-profile relationships and her own successful career, has a jaw angle of 141.9 degrees when viewed from the front, which is extremely close to the universally accepted “perfect” angle of 142 degrees.
This remarkable finding was the result of a survey conducted among 32 expert facial surgeons and 16 regular individuals, all of whom agreed that Gigi Hadid’s jawline strikes the perfect balance between steepness and flatness.
Interestingly, another iconic supermodel, Kate Moss, was also found to have a jaw angle that 76 percent of experts and non-experts considered attractive when viewed from the front.

The angle of one’s jaw is determined where the vertical part of the jaw transitions from a straight line to a more gradual slope towards the chin. A larger angle is generally seen as more feminine and smooth, while a smaller angle is associated with a more masculine appearance, seen in celebrities like Brad Pitt.
In the study, model Stella Maxwell, former girlfriend of pop star Miley Cyrus and actress Kristen Stewart, was rated highest for the match between the vertical part of her jawline and the slope of her forehead. Meanwhile, Jessica Stam, renowned for her “doll face” features, was found to have the best ratio between the distance across her jawline and the distance across the middle of her face.
These groundbreaking findings are the result of research led by Professor Maurice Mommaerts from the University of Brussels, which was published in the Journal of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery.
Dr. Robbert Cleymaet, a co-author of the study, highlighted the significance of small differences in jaw angles on people’s perceived attractiveness, especially in the era of video calls that has made individuals more conscious of their facial appearance. The study was conducted through an online survey where participants were asked to rate the jawlines of 53 female celebrities and models.

Based on the comprehensive ratings received, the study concludes that the perfect jawline, when viewed from the front, is at 142 degrees, while the perfect angle in profile is 125.5 degrees. Additionally, the ideal ratio of the distance across the jaw to the distance across the middle of the face is 0.83.
This study follows a previous one conducted in 2016, which found that men with strong jaws were generally preferred. For example, two-thirds of the participants in that study considered actor Brad Pitt to have an appealing vertical jaw position.
