Trainers Are Eager for New Poke Balls in Pokemon Go
The Pokemon Go mobile game has incorporated many features from the mainline series, like the Pokedex and Evolution Items.
However, there are still many additions missing from the monster-catching mobile game, even after seven years.
One notable absence is a diverse range of Poke Balls for trainers to use. While Pokemon Go primarily focuses on Great and Ultra Balls, fans are keen to see more variety in the game.

Pokemon Go Trainers Call for More Poke Balls
A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit has sparked a community discussion about the lack of variety in Poke Balls, with one trainer asking, “When is Niantic going to add other pokeballs to the game? i.e. the Quick ball, Dusk ball, Luxury ball, etc.”
They shared a post showing that the Poke Ball inventory slot is much smaller compared to others due to only having three types of Poke Balls available.
For those unfamiliar, Pokemon Go currently only features the following Poke Balls: Poke Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Premier Balls, Beast Balls, and the Master Ball.

Out of these six, only three Poke Balls can be easily obtained, as the Master Ball is extremely rare and Beast Balls were only available during a specific event.
Many fans have expressed their desire for more variety. One trainer said, “Would love type-bonus Balls like the Lure Ball or Heavy Ball,” while another expressed, “Holy… A Friend Ball would be just lovely.”
Unfortunately, many players are not optimistic about the inclusion of different Poke Balls for various reasons. One fan speculated, “I don’t think we’ll see the Dusk Ball, [Niantic] probably wants to discourage nighttime gameplay.”

Some also worry that adding too many Poke Balls would clutter and confuse the game.
While simplicity is often preferred, finding a smart and efficient way to incorporate more Poke Ball variety could make catching difficult Pokemon easier.
